Now, we love this guys work. It is simple, recycled, utilises a traditional style of joinery (built to last forever) and is full of passion. Ben doesn't do things in halves.
If there is a definition of "doing things once and doing it right", this furniture is it. When you receive a trade like this, you really have to slap yourself around a bit because it is just so beautiful. Its exactly like when you get a really really amazing present and you feel like there aren't enough words in the English language to express your thanks, so you hope that your facial expressions pulled it off for you. Fingers crossed. For a few weeks Ben would update us on the progress of the "surprise item" he planned on trading and it had me totally intrigued. But I knew he wouldn't be giving it to us until it was "prefect", because that is how this guy rolls.
And it was well worth the wait. Last week he unveiled it. A petit and perfect milking stool, built to last forever. It really is as beautiful and as perfect as they come. And it's crazy to think it - but we will have this in our home for the rest of our lives, then our children's lives. Etc etc. And tell the story of how we got it over and over again. It's a beautiful thing. I urge you to get in contact with Ben and get something made. Because I promise you, it will be worth it.
