We produce organic, waste-free, vegetables, fruits, flowers, pastured eggs and raw milk and provide our produce directly to people and restaurants. No middle-man.

We forage wild foods, hunt wild game and hand-milk our cow.

We make long-ferment sourdough bread, raw dairy products, natural wine, pickles and preserves.

We run workshops and dinners, consult and speak about real food, traditional ecological food-raising and pre-industrial food preparation.

We love living like this and we couldn’t imagine it any other way.

At the age of 51 (very nearly 52) my life is what it is because of lots of small moments rather than just one. In recent years it would have to be the 2009 fires.  As we often use the term “before the fires” I am guessing this would be the biggest thing.  We saved our house (yay) - but lost sheds and infrastructure as well as some cattle and our A.I. (artificial insemination) tank with irreplaceable genetics and machinery etc etc etc. 

From this day on, we have focused on our beef business (through necessity) and I can truly say that for both of us it has completely changed our lives – in a really really GOOD way.


First cup of tea in the morning.  We only ever use a tea pot with leaves, in our ‘perfect silver’ teapot.

First one up has to make the tea and deliver it to wherever the other person is.
