Trade: Our interns practice trading

The flower exchange

Trade: Our interns practice trading

grownandgathered

What is the real value of things?
Trading.
So, what is the value of things? And who says they are worth that?

What is abundant in your life you will undervalue - and there's someone out there who would kill to have it. I promise.

We sent our interns out in to the world, to experience trade for themselves.  We armed each with 1x bucket of flowers and the only rule, to use them for trade.

The results:

Linsey:

The bucket of flowers = coffee and a beautiful drawing.
*sound recording from her moments waiting for her coffee and picture below of the drawing and drawer.

Laura and Aurelian:

Went to the local town of Nagambie to trade. They approached all kinds of people - at the local market, the town and cafes. But, no one would trade with them, with almost a standard response from each and every person saying "They are beautiful, but I need money".

Conclusion:

Whatever conclusion you draw from their experiences - it was an experience. They met people, they chatted, they exchanged stories and if nothing else, they impacted the other persons day.

Lachy:

2x flowers = a swig of wine.
1x flower = a few records from a "free stuff" pile (that Lachy insisted shouldn't be free).
3x flowers = a burger and chips
3x flowers = a cocktail
*See photos below for evidence. NOTE: Lach actually traded a different type of flower to everyone else, due to "organisation" difficulties.
