WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF WISDOM THAT HAS STUCK WITH YOU?

DAVE:

“You only live once, so take every opportunity that presents itself to you as you may not be back.”

 ERIN:

People say to me all the time “Enjoy it now because you won’t be able to do that when you have kids”. I mainly apply this to sleeping in...but it can also be applied to taking holidays, spending money on ‘wants’ not ‘needs’, and those nights where you just can’t be bothered cooking dinner. Probably just a good excuse to be a bit selfish, but I’ll take it for now!

TELL ME A STORY THAT HAS CHANGED YOUR LIFE

ERIN:

In 2012, whilst on a working holiday in Canada, I broke my arm. This was a real turning point for me. It forced me to stop and I realise I had reached a fork in the road. I was on a self-destructive path and this jolted me back to reality. Retrospectively I think the broken arm was like a physical manifestation of what was happening in my life at that time.

 DAVE:

The death of my father ultimately led me to becoming a stronger individual and a more empathetic person.

YOUR FAVOURITE RITUAL

ERIN:

Sitting at the top of a ski run clipping on my snowboard. This is especially good on the first run of the season or on a powder day! Most people complain about having to do this, but I really enjoy that 30 seconds or so where you just get to stop and contemplate. I love having that time to plan how I’m going to tackle the run and the anticipation that builds during the process.

DAVE:

Morning coffee on a Saturday after a crisp bike ride whilst perusing the weekend paper.
